My name is Mel Lockhart. I have been providing
professional photography services since my retirement from the
Minnesota State Patrol in 1999. I specialize
in aerial, wedding, graduation, sports, baby and family
gathering type photography. I specifically operate as a
location photographer. I am a NPS (Nikon Professional
Services) member and have been published in various newspapers
in northern Minnesota for sports photography as well as W.I.N.
and the Guillotine magazines.
My first experience
in photography was when I was 14 years old and assisted
my older brother in photographing a Jewish Bar Mitzvah.
I entered the United States Marine Corps in 1972 and was
eventually assigned to Rear Admiral Draper L. Kaufmann during
which time I became involved with the return of P.O.W.'s and
taking many photographs of this historic event. I began
my career as a Minnesota State Trooper in 1976 and for 23
years I was required to take photographs of various criminal
and civil matters which were many times used in court
proceedings for criminal prosecutions, accident
investigations, and insurance claims.
All of my current
photography is in digital 35mm format. I exclusively
utilize the Nikon professional D2X model camera.
My hobbies include wild
life and nature photography, fishing, hunting, and
electronics.
